Dig A Crusher

Hertfordshire Oil Storage Terminal Explosions

On the morning of 11 December 2005, a series of explosions and a major fire ripped through the Hertfordshire Oil Storage Terminal near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. At the time, the Buncefield depot was the UK’s fifth largest oil-products storage facility, with a capacity of about 272,765,400 litres of fuel.

When the fire abated and the subsequent investigation was complete, work to demolish the fire-damaged buildings began, with Cheshire-based J. Bryan (Victoria) Ltd winning the lion’s share of the demolition works.

Now, as J. Bryan’s work at the site comes to an end, the company is using a variety of Dig A Crusher equipment to segregate and process the concrete and steel remaining on the vast site.

In this exclusive video, you can see the equipment in action, and hear what J. Bryan’s site manager has to say about the equipment.
